🚀 Vercel Management Command Interface (MCP) Installation Guide

This project provides a management command interface (MCP) for Vercel, enabling seamless management of Vercel projects within Cursor.

🚀 Quick Start

📦 Installation

1. Download and Install Node.js Ensure that Node.js is installed. It is recommended to use the LTS version.
2. Clone the MCP Repository Open the terminal and run the following command:

   git clone https://github.com/Quegenx/cursor-vercel-mcp.git
   

3. Install Dependencies Navigate to the repository directory and run:

   npm install
   

4. Start the MCP Service After the installation is complete, run the following command to start the service:

   npm start
   

5. Configure the Vercel Access Token In the MCP settings of Cursor, add your Vercel access token to complete the authentication.

⚙️ Configuration

Initialize the MCP Server

• Run the following command in the terminal to start the MCP service:

  npm start
  

Access Token Configuration

• Add the VERCEL_ACCESS_TOKEN environment variable to your project and ensure its security.

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

Once the configuration is complete, the MCP server will provide all Vercel management tools for Cursor. Simply describe the operations you want to perform on your Vercel project, and the AI will handle them using the corresponding commands.

Advanced Usage

• List All Projects

  vercel projects list
  

• Create a New Project

  vercel projects create --name my-next-project --type nextjs
  

• Add a Custom Domain

  vercel domains add mydomain.com -p projectId
  

• Set Environment Variables

  vercel envs create PROJECT_ID VARIABLE_NAME=variable_value
  

⚠️ Security Precautions

1. Keep the Token Secure Ensure the security of the Vercel access token and avoid disclosure.
2. Permission Control Use appropriate access control policies to limit the scope and permissions of the token.
3. Follow Best Practices Follow Vercel's security recommendations and regularly review and update your configuration.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

Common Issues

1. Node.js Path Issue
   • Ensure that the correct Node.js path is used.
     • Mac/Linux: Use which node to find the path.
     • Windows: Use where node to find the path.
2. Invalid Token
   • Verify the validity of the Vercel access token and ensure that it has not expired and has the necessary permissions.
3. MCP Cannot Recognize Tools
   • Click the refresh button in the MCP settings of Cursor.
   • Ensure that the server is running normally (no error messages).
   • Check the validity of the Vercel credentials.

Debug Mode

Add DEBUG=true before the command to enable detailed log output:

# Mac/Linux
DEBUG=true npm start

# Windows
set DEBUG=true && npm start
