Java Spring Mysql MCP Server

🚀 Spring Boot MySQL Project

This is a Spring Boot project configured with MySQL and the HikariCP connection pool, aiming to simplify database operations and enhance application performance.

🚀 Quick Start

Prerequisites

• Java 17 or higher
• Maven 3.6 or higher
• MySQL 8.0 or higher

Setup

1. Create a MySQL database named demo:

CREATE DATABASE demo;

2. If the database credentials differ from the default values, update them in src/main/resources/application.properties:
   • Username: root
   • Password: root

Running the Application

1. Build the project:

mvn clean install

2. Run the application:

mvn spring-boot:run

Or

java -jar path/to/jar/java-mysql-mcp-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar

The application will run on http://localhost:8080.

You can modify these settings in src/main/resources/application.properties.

spring.main.web-application-type: none is a necessary configuration for connecting to the server via standard input/output. Otherwise, the following error will be thrown:

Usage on MCP Client

The value of db.hostenv is the host and port of the database server, for example: host:port, such as localhost:3306.

Debugging

You can use the MCP inspector tool for testing and debugging with the following command:

npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector java -Dspring.ai.mcp.server.stdio=true -jar /path/to/project/target/java-mysql-mcp-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar

The log output will be created in the ./mcp-mysql-stdio-server.log file.
