🚀 MCP Server - Build Tool

This project demonstrates an MCP server that enables users to interact with Maven (currently only Maven is supported) through natural language. It shows how to expose build tools via MCP and provides a natural and intuitive way to build projects.

🚀 Quick Start

Prerequisites

List the software and tools required before installing the project:

• Java 21 or higher
• Maven
• MCP clients (Claude, Goose, etc.)
• Optionally, if you're using an MCP client like Goose, you can use a local LLM

Features

• User-Friendly: Combine this server with any MCP client and your chosen large language model to invoke builds through natural language. No need to remember plugins, goals, and parameters!
• Apache Maven Support: Currently, only Apache Maven is supported. We can expand to support other build tools if there's interest.

Installation (for Claude Desktop)

1. Add this MCP server to Claude: Locate the claude_desktop_config.json file in the Claude installation directory. For MacOS, the path is as follows: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json Then add the following content (replace the placeholders):

2. You may need to restart the Claude client. This will start the MCP server for the build tool.
3. Now you should be able to interact with Maven through natural language using the Claude desktop. Try submitting tasks in natural language to build your project.
