This is an implementation based on the Salesforce MCP protocol, enabling integration with Salesforce. It allows users to query, modify, and manage objects and records in Salesforce through natural language processing. This tool aims to simplify the interaction process with Salesforce.

Authentication Methods

Username/Password Authentication

• You need to configure the following environment variables:
  • SALESFORCE_USERNAME: Salesforce username or email.
  • SALESFORCE_PASSWORD: Salesforce password.
  • SALESFORCE_SECURITY_TOKEN: Salesforce security token.

OAuth2 Authentication

• You need to configure the following environment variables:
  • SALESFORCE_CLIENT_ID: Client ID obtained when registering the application.
  • SALESFORCE_CLIENT_SECRET: Application secret key.
  • SALESFORCE_REDIRECT_URI: Redirect URI.

Integration in Cursor IDE

1. Open the settings of Cursor IDE.
2. Navigate to the plugin management or extension section.
3. Search for and install the Salesforce MCP plugin.
4. Configure the plugin and enter the relevant environment variables.

Integration in Claude Desktop

1. Place the configuration file config.json in the corresponding location:
   • Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude Desktop\config.json
   • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude Desktop/config.json
2. Ensure that the configuration file contains the following content:

Building from Source Code

# Clone the repository
git clone git@github.com:yourusername/salesforce-mcp-server.git

# Navigate to the directory
cd salesforce-mcp-server

# Install dependencies
npm install

# Build the project
npm run build

Troubleshooting

1. Authentication Errors

   • Confirm that the credentials are correct.
   • For username/password authentication, ensure that the security token is valid.
   • For OAuth2 authentication, check that the client ID and secret key are correct.

2. Connection Issues

   • Check if the Salesforce instance URL is correct.
   • Ensure that the network connection is normal.
   • Verify API access permissions.

3. Cursor IDE Integration Issues

   • Restart Cursor IDE and confirm that the plugin is loaded.
   • Use the developer tools to check the console output.
   • Confirm that the npm package is installed globally.

4. Claude Desktop Integration Issues

   • Check if the configuration file location is correct.
   • Ensure that the file permissions are correct.
   • Restart Claude Desktop and confirm the plugin loading status.
