🚀 New York Times MCP Server

A unified Message Convergence Protocol (MCP) server that provides a simple and unified interface to various New York Times (NYT) APIs. This server simplifies interactions with multiple NYT APIs through a single endpoint.

🚀 Quick Start

Prerequisites

• Python 3.8+
• NYT API Key (obtainable from the NYT Developer Portal)
• Necessary Python packages (see requirements.txt)

Steps

1. Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/your-username/nyt-mcp-server.git
cd nyt-mcp-server

2. Create and activate a virtual environment:

python -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate  # Use 'venv\Scripts\activate' on Windows

3. Install dependencies:

pip install -r requirements.txt

4. Create a .env file:

NYT_API_KEY=your_api_key_here
MCP_PORT=8000
MCP_HOST=0.0.0.0

5. Run the server:

python src/server.py
