🚀 MCP Server

The MCP Server offers a range of useful functions, including weather queries, currency conversion, and news retrieval. It can be easily configured and used with the Claude Desktop client.

🚀 Quick Start

To use the MCP Server, you need to download and configure the Claude Desktop client first.

1. Download the Claude Desktop client from here.
2. After downloading the application, configure the config file in the File -> Settings menu in the top - left corner to ensure the client runs properly.

✨ Features

• Weather: Retrieve the current weather based on the city name (e.g., "Moscow", "Tokyo").
• Currency Conversion: Support conversion between any currencies (e.g., convert "USD" to "EUR").
• News: Get news from the past 7 days. You can specify the topic or source, such as getting news from Bloomberg in the past 7 days.

📦 Installation

Step 1: Clone the Repository

Open a command - line tool (CMD or PowerShell) and execute the following command:

git clone https://github.com/Kostya-Zhdanovich/Mcp-server-test

Step 2: Enter the Project Directory

Execute the following command to switch to the project folder:

cd Mcp-server-test

Step 3: Install uv

Run the following PowerShell command to install uv:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -c "irm https://astral.sh/uv/install.ps1 | iex"

Step 4: Prepare the Project

Execute the following commands to create and activate a virtual environment:

uv venv
.venv\Scripts\activate

Add the necessary dependencies:

uv add mcp[cli] httpx

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

Use MCP Inspector for Testing

Run the following command in the project directory to start the inspector:

npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector python main.py

Open a browser and visit the specified page. After logging in, test the current functions in the tool tab and view the results.
