🔧 Technical Details

This server is implemented using FastMCP and provides two main tools:

1. rubber_duck: A traditional rubber duck debugging tool that remains silent.
2. squeak: An interactive rubber duck that responds with "Squeak!" when activated.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Python 3.10 or higher
• uv package manager
• fastmcp package

To use this rubber duck server with Claude, you need to install it via the FastMCP CLI. Run the following command:

fastmcp install src/server.py

This will make the rubber-duck available to Claude through the MCP configuration file claude_desktop_config.json. For more details on Claude Desktop integration, please refer to FastMCP documentation.

The installation command will generate an object in JSON format as follows:

To use the rubber-duck in Cursor, add this JSON to <project root>/.cursor/mcp.json. Go to Cursor Settings > MCP section, and you will see that rubber-duck is installed. You may need to restart Cursor for it to appear green.
