The Notion MCP Server is a bridge that connects AI assistants to Notion workspaces, allowing AI tools to perform various operations efficiently. Here's a quick guide to get you started:

Prerequisites

1. Node.js and npm (version 14 or higher)
2. Docker (for optional Docker support)

Create a Notion Integration

1. Visit the Notion Developers Panel.
2. Create a new integration and obtain the API key.

Share Content

• Invite the newly created integration to your Notion workspace or specific pages/databases.

Installation

1. Clone this repository:

   git clone https://github.com/yourusername/notion-mcp.git
   cd notion-mcp
   

2. Install dependencies:

   npm install
   

Configuration

1. Copy the .env.example file to .env:

   cp .env.example .env
   

2. Set the following variables in the .env file:
   • NOTION_API_KEY: Your Notion API key
   • NOTION_WORKSPACE_ID: Your workspace ID

Start the Server

npm run dev

Configure Claude Desktop

1. Set the following in the config.ts file:

   export const config = {
     tools: {
       notion: {
         apiKey: process.env.NOTION_API_KEY,
         workspaceId: process.env.NOTION_WORKSPACE_ID,
       },
     },
   };
