🚀 Options Chain - MCP

The Claude MCP server is used for the options chain endpoint and historical price endpoint of the Tradier sandbox API.

🚀 Quick Start

This MCP server implementation enables AI assistants and applications to:

• Obtain options chain data for specific stocks and expiration dates.
• Filter options to include only calls, only puts, or both by default.
• Filter options within a certain percentage range of the current price.
• Automatically filter important strike prices to limit the context size.
• Get historical prices for specific stocks or options contracts within a given time period.

Note:

• A Tradier account and sandbox API access token are required.
• Market data from the sandbox API has a 15 - minute delay.
• It is for informational purposes only.

Users can run queries using natural language.

📦 Installation

1. Download and install Node.js (version 14.x is recommended).
2. Clone this repository: git clone https://github.com/yourusername/options-chain-mcp.git
3. Navigate to the project directory: cd options-chain-mcp
4. Install dependencies: npm install
5. Start the server: node index.js

🛠️ Connecting with Claude Desktop

1. Open Claude Desktop.
2. Go to "Settings" > "MCP Tools".
3. Click "Add New Tool".
4. Fill in the following information:
   • Name: Options Chain MCP
   • Type: Custom Node.js Tool
   • Execution path: path/to/node
   • Tool path: path/to/options-chain-mcp/index.js
5. Save the settings after completion.

🔧 Troubleshooting

1. If an error occurs during startup, ensure that Node.js is installed correctly.
2. Check the firewall settings to ensure that the port is open.
3. Check the server logs in the terminal for more information.
