🚀 Monotonic Desktop Commander MCP

Short version. Two key points: terminal commands and diff-based file editing.

This is a server that allows the Claude desktop application to execute long-running terminal commands on your computer and manage processes via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Built on top of the MCP File System Server, it provides additional search and replace file editing capabilities.

📦 Installation

First, make sure you have downloaded and installed the Claude desktop application.

Method 1: Install via npm

Run the following command in your terminal:

npm install -g @wonderwhy-er/desktop-commander

Method 2: Manual Installation

1. Download the source code:

   git clone https://github.com/wonderwhy-er/ClaudeComputerCommander.git
   cd ClaudeComputerCommander
   

2. Install dependencies and start the server:

   npm install
   npm start
   

💻 Usage Examples

Start the Server

Run the following command in your terminal:

npx @wonderwhy-er/desktop-commander

Example Commands

Execute a Terminal Command
