📦 Installation

1. Start the logger in the terminal where you want to view the logs:

npx mcps-logger

2. Install the logger in your MCP server:

npm install mcps-logger

Basic Usage

Add it to your MCP server entry file:

import "mcps-logger/console";

Advanced Usage

If you only want to use it in development mode:

if (process.env.NODE_ENV !== "production") {
    import("mcps-logger/console");
}

Why?

When developing an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server using the stdio transport protocol, console.log interferes with protocol communication. For example, when you call console.log in your MCP server code in the MCP inspection tool npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector, you usually get the following error message:

MCP Server Error: Unexpected token S in JSON at position 0
