The Exa MCP Server offers the following tools for Zed:

📦 Installation

This MCP server requires an API key.

1. Register a new account at Exa API Account.
2. Generate your API key from dashboard.exa.ai/api-keys.

In your Zed settings:

Proxy Mode Configuration

If you are using Zed's proxy mode, you need to enable this context server for your assistant:

1. Open Zed's proxy settings.
2. Enable the Exa MCP tool. If you see a red dot indicating the tool's status, ensure you have added your Exa API key in the settings.
3. Enable the Exa MCP tool in your active proxy configuration profile. In the chat section, click the 'Compose | Ask' button, then click 'Tools' to enable the Exa MCP tool.
