📦 Installation

You can use the Gaia MCP Server in multiple ways:

Using npx (No Installation Required)

Run the server directly with npx without installation:

# Run in SSE mode
npx @ather-mcp/gaia-mcp-server sse

# Run in standard input/output mode
npx @ather-mcp/gaia-mcp-server stdio --api-key=your-api-key

Global Installation

Install the package globally to run it from anywhere:

npm install -g @ather-mcp/gaia-mcp-server

Then run it from any terminal:

# Run in SSE mode
gaia-mcp-server sse

# Run in standard input/output mode
gaia-mcp-server stdio --api-key=your-api-key

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

Using Standard Input/Output Method

Add the following command to your package.json:

}

Then run:

npm start

Once done, you can expose the API endpoints to your language model.

Using SSE Method

Add the following command to your package.json:

    "start": "gaia-mcp-server sse"
  }
}

Then run:

npm start

Once done, you can connect to the SSE endpoints.

Understanding MCP

MCP (Model Context Protocol) allows language models to interact with backend services. This server implementation uses the @modelcontextprotocol/sdk package to handle protocol details.

API Endpoints

When running in SSE mode, the following endpoints are available:

• GET /sse: Establish an SSE connection
• POST /messages: Send messages to the server
• GET /health: Health check endpoint
• GET /: Basic information about the server
