A 3D worker monitoring and control system with MCP enabled

Worker 17 is a comprehensive system that enables you to:

1. Monitor the position and status of Worker 17.
2. Send tasks to Worker 17.
3. Terminate Worker 17 due to poor performance.
4. Monitor, control, and terminate Worker 17 using Claude Desktop via MCP.

The system consists of:

• Webapp: A 3D visualization interface for Worker 17's status using React, Three.js, and WebSockets.
• Server: A Node.js/Express server with WebSocket support and an SSE MCP server implementation.
• MCP Integration: Compatible with Claude Desktop for AI-assisted management of Worker 17.

A More Serious Note?

Worker 17 started as a prank project and later evolved into an exploration of the SSE MCP server. It's a silly project but also a fun way to learn about MCP.

🚀 Quick Start

Development Setup

# Start the server
cd server
npm install
npm start

# Start the Webapp in another terminal
npm install
npm start

Web Container Mode

For development and demonstration purposes, you can run the server directly in the browser:

# Use Web Container for the development environment (automatically builds the server)
npm run dev:wc

# Build for production and use Web Container
npm run build:wc

# Preview the production build
npm run preview:wc

This mode automatically builds the server code and runs it in a Node.js environment within the browser, eliminating the need for a separate server process.

Docker

You can also run the system using Docker:

docker-compose up

⚠️ Important Note

If you're running Docker in WSL without Docker Desktop, there's currently a bug preventing port exposure. A temporary solution is to run the container in host network mode, but this may bypass the container's network isolation and pose potential risks.

MCP Inspection Tool

You can use the MCP Inspection Tool to connect to Worker 17's MCP server and check the worker's status. Select the SSE transport method and provide the URL of the Worker 17 server: http://localhost:4000/sse (or the actual URL where you're running the server).

Claude Desktop

Claude Desktop currently doesn't support direct connection to the SSE MCP server. To use Worker 17's MCP server, you need an Stdio MCP proxy. I've tested using the sparfenyuk/mcp-proxy Windows binary and added it to the %USERPROFILE%\.local\bin directory.

Then you can add Worker 17's MCP server to the Claude Desktop configuration:
