🚀 NodeMCU IoT Device Management Platform

The NodeMCU IoT Device Management Platform is an IoT device management solution based on NodeMCU and WebSocket. It allows users to remotely configure and monitor NodeMCU devices through a web interface and RESTful API.

🚀 Quick Start

Server Side

1. Clone the repository and install dependencies:

   git clone https://github.com/yourusername/nodemcu-mcp.git
   cd nodemcu-mcp
   npm install
   

2. Configure environment variables. Copy .env.example and rename it to .env, then fill in the relevant configurations.
3. Start the server:

   node index.js
   

Client Side (NodeMCU Devices)

1. Install the required libraries in the Arduino IDE:

   • ESP8266WiFi
   • WebSocketsClient
   • ArduinoJson

2. Configure the example code, for example:

   const char* ssid = "YOUR_WIFI_SSID";
   const char* password = "YOUR_WIFI_PASSWORD";
   const char* mcpHost = "your-server-ip";
   const int mcpPort = 3000;
   

3. Upload the code to the NodeMCU device.

• Device Management: List all connected NodeMCU devices and support searching by ID or name.
• Remote Control: Send commands (such as restart, reset) to specified devices and get the execution results.
• Data Collection: Receive sensor data and system information from NodeMCU in real - time via WebSocket.
• Configuration Management: View and modify the configuration parameters of each device, such as reporting interval, debug mode, etc.
• Status Monitoring: Monitor the real - time status of devices, including network signal strength (RSSI), heap memory usage, running time, etc.

Implementation Principle

1. WebSocket Connection: NodeMCU devices establish a connection with the server through the WebSocket protocol.
2. Heartbeat Mechanism: To keep the connection active, a heartbeat packet is sent every 30 seconds.
3. Command Processing: After receiving a command, the device parses and executes the corresponding operation (such as restart), and then feeds back the result to the server.
