🚀 Monday.com MCP Server

A lightweight MCP server for seamless integration with Monday.com, enabling MCP clients to interact with Monday.com resources such as boards, items, and other resources. Developed by sofias tech.

🚀 Quick Start

Installation

pip install -e .

Or after the release on PyPI:

pip install mcp-monday-server

Using uv:

uv pip install mcp-monday-server

Claude Desktop Integration

To integrate with Claude Desktop, update the configuration file:

• Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
• macOS: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

This server provides a clean interface to Monday.com resources via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and has built-in caching for improved performance.

Tools

The server implements the following tools:

• Get_Board_Schema: Get the schema of a specified board, including columns, groups, and tags.
• Get_Item_Details: Get detailed information based on the item ID.
• Get_Items_by_Column_Value: Search for items based on a specific column value.
• Create_Item: Create a new item in a specified group.
• Update_Item: Update the column values of an existing item.
• Delete_Item: Delete an item from a specified board.

📦 Installation Guide

1. Create a personal API token in Monday.com following the instructions in the Monday.com API documentation.
2. Obtain the board ID from your Monday.com board URL (e.g., if the URL is https://your-workspace.monday.com/boards/12345678, the board ID is 12345678).

Environment Variables

The server requires the following environment variables:

• MONDAY_API_KEY: Your Monday.com personal API token.
• MONDAY_BOARD_ID: The default board ID to use.

Local Development Steps

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/xxx/mcp-server-monday.git
   cd mcp-server-monday
   

2. Create a virtual environment and install dependencies:

   python -m venv .venv
   source .venv/bin/activate  # For Windows, use `.venv\Scripts\activate`
   pip install -r requirements.txt
   

3. Run the server:

   python -m mcpy
   

Debugging

You can use the following commands to check the logs:

uv task list
uv task logs <PID>
