🚀 MCP Local Servers

This repository contains a set of simple Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers designed for local operation. The included servers, such as mcp-filesystem (a clone of Anthropic's official file system server) and mcp-cmd-exec, can be used in conjunction with the Claude desktop application to create low-power Claude code without an API KEY.

By running these servers, you can integrate them with the Claude desktop application to perform tasks such as file operations and command execution.

This project was entirely built by the Claude desktop application (including Git management) using the mcp-filesystem and mcp-cmd-exec servers.

🚀 Quick Start

To use these repositories in your system, ensure that you have Node v18 or a higher version installed, along with the Claude desktop application.

Then, you can clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/anishgowda21/mcp-local-servers
cd mcp-local-servers

And build it:

cd <server name>
npm run build

Edit the Claude configuration file to make it look like this:

Then restart the Claude application and enjoy the functionality.

📦 Included Servers

• mcp-filesystem: A clone of Anthropic's official file system server, allowing file read and write operations within a specified directory. Suitable for managing local files via Claude.
• mcp-cmd-exec: Executes shell commands in pre-approved directories with security constraints. When used in conjunction with mcp-filesystem, it enables a complete local tool setup.
• mcp-sse: A simple Server-Sent Events (SSE) server for fetching and echoing data, which can be used with Cursor.
• mcp-weather-node: A weather server for fetching weather data via an API.
