🚀 Google Calendar MCP Project Guide

This guide details how to use the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to create a tool integrated with Google Calendar. It enables the management and query of calendar events in Claude through natural language processing.

Environment Requirements

Authentication Configuration

Obtain OAuth Credentials

1. Create an OAuth Application:
   • Log in to Google Cloud Console.
   • Create a new project or select an existing one.
   • Navigate to "APIs & Services" > "Credentials".
   • Click "Create Credentials" and select "OAuth client ID".
2. Set OAuth Scopes:
   • Request the following scopes: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.

Configure Environment Variables

Create a .env file (do not commit it to the version control system):

2. create_event: Create a new calendar event.
3. update_event: Update an existing calendar event.

⚠️ Important Note

• Ensure the security of OAuth credentials and do not commit them to the version control system.
• Rotate refresh tokens regularly.
• Monitor API usage in the Google Cloud Console.
