mcp-sentry is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server designed to retrieve and analyze issues from Sentry.io. It provides tools to fetch error reports, stack traces, and other debugging information, facilitating the analysis of issues in your Sentry account.

1. get_sentry_issue

   • Retrieve and analyze a Sentry issue by ID or URL.
   • Input:
     • issue_id_or_url (string): The ID or URL of the Sentry issue to analyze.
   • Return value: Issue details including the following information:
     • Title
     • Issue ID
     • Status
     • Level
     • First seen timestamp
     • Last seen timestamp
     • Stack trace

2. get_list_issues

   • List all Sentry issues based on the project and repository names.
   • Input:
     • project (string): The ID of the project to analyze.
     • repository (string): The name of the repository to analyze.
   • Return value: A list of issues with the following details:
     • Title
     • Issue ID
     • Status
     • Level
     • First seen timestamp
     • Last seen timestamp

📦 Installation

Using Smithery

You can easily install and run mcp-sentry via Smithery:

npx -y @smithery/cli install mcp-sentry

Then start the server:

npx @smithery/cli run mcp-sentry

Using uv

If you have uv installed, you can run mcp-sentry with the following command:

cd path/to/mcp-sentry
uv .

Using pip

You can also install and run it directly via pip:

pip install mcp-sentry
mcp-sentry

📚 Documentation

Configuration on Claude Desktop

1. Install using Smithery CLI

npx -y @smithery/cli install mcp-sentry --save

2. Add the run command to package.json Add the following to your package.json file:

}

3. Start the server Run in the terminal:

npm run mcp-sentry

Configuration on Zed

1. Install using pip

pip install mcp-sentry

2. Add the startup command to settings.json Add the following to your settings.json file:

}

3. Start the server Run the command in Zed:

mcp-sentry

🔧 Technical Details

You can use the MCP inspection tool to debug the server. For uv installation:

npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector uv mcp-sentry --auth-token YOUR_SENTRY_TOKEN --project YOUR_PROJECT_ID --repository YOUR_REPOSITORY_NAME

If you've installed it in a specific directory or are in development:

cd path/to/mcp-sentry/src
npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector uv run mcp-sentry --auth-token YOUR_SENTRY_TOKEN --project YOUR_PROJECT_ID --repository YOUR_REPOSITORY_NAME
