This is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server implemented in Node.js, designed for TaskWarrior operations.

• View pending tasks.
• Filter tasks by project and tags.
• Add new tasks with description, due date, priority, project, and tags.
• Mark tasks as completed.

⚠️ Important Note

This server runs your local task executable, so TaskWarrior needs to be installed and configured.

The current version uses task id, which is an unstable identifier. TaskWarrior may renumber tasks when adding or removing them. Future versions will be more cautious and use task UUIDs instead.

Tools

• get_next_tasks

  • Get a list of all pending tasks.
  • Optional filtering conditions:
    • project: Filter by project name.
    • tags: Filter by one or more tags.

• add_task

  • Add a new task to TaskWarrior.
  • Required parameters:
    • description: Task description text.
  • Optional parameters:
    • due: Due date (ISO timestamp).
    • priority: Priority level ("H", "M", or "L").
    • project: Project name (lowercase with dot separators).
    • tags: Array of tags (lowercase).

• mark_task_done

  • Mark a task as completed.
  • Required parameters:
    • identifier: Task ID or UUID.
