🚀 MCP Server Integration with Claude Desktop

This guide provides a step-by-step process to integrate the MCP server with Claude Desktop, enabling you to leverage its capabilities for log analysis and issue resolution.

🚀 Quick Start

Prerequisites

You need Claude Desktop to perform this operation (a free account will suffice).

Step 1: Launch the MCP Server

• Clone this repository.
• Install the dependencies using the command pip install -r requirements.txt.
• Start the server with python logreader.py.

Step 2: Install the MCP Server in Claude Desktop

Open Claude Desktop. Navigate to Claude > Settings > Developers and click Edit Configuration.

This will open a folder and highlight a specific JSON file. Open the file and set the content as follows.

This step informs Claude Desktop about your MCP server.

Step 3: Launch Claude

You should see a small "connector" icon. Click it, and an installed server named logreader should be displayed.

Step 4: Request Help from Claude!

Start a new chat and ask a question similar to: I noticed an error in the logs on March 22. Help me investigate it.

Claude should know that it should use your MCP server (along with the three provided tools) to assist in answering your query. Claude may request permission to run these tools. Grant the permission.

After a while (possibly requiring additional prompts), you should receive an answer and suggested fixes:

• Pipeline C and the released version are most likely the cause of the error.
