🚀 Code Runner MCP Server

A MCP server for running code snippets and displaying results.

This server supports a wide range of programming languages, including JavaScript, PHP, Python, Perl, Perl 6, Ruby, Go, Lua, Groovy, PowerShell, BAT/CMD, BASH/SH, F# Script, C# Script, VBScript, TypeScript, CoffeeScript, Scala, Swift, Julia, Crystal, OCaml Script, R, AppleScript, Elixir, Clojure, Racket, Scheme, AutoHotkey, AutoIt, Kotlin Script, Dart, Haskell, Ni, Lisp, Kit, V, SCSS, Sass. 📦 Installation and Configuration

Using npx in VS Code

Configure in settings.json:

Installation via Smithery

⚠️ Important Note

This will host the Code Runner MCP Server using the remote container environment of Smithery.

To automatically install the Code Runner MCP Server for Claude Desktop:

npx -y @smithery/cli install @formulahendry/mcp-server-code-runner --client claude

🛠️ Solving npx Issues on Windows

If you encounter npx-related issues on Windows, follow these steps:

1. Open the Command Prompt (CMD).
2. Run the following command to install the required dependencies:

   npm install -g npm.cmd
   

3. After the installation is complete, restart the Command Prompt.
4. Ensure that Node.js and npm are correctly installed and verify their versions:

   node --version
   npm --version
   

5. If the issue persists, check if the environment variable configuration is correct.

💻 Usage Instructions

When using the MCP server for code execution, you can operate it with the following command:

npm start

After running, the server will listen for requests on the specified port and process incoming code execution tasks. Make sure that the firewall and security software allow communication on this port.
