🚀 Star Wars MCP Server

The Star Wars MCP Server provides 19 functions to access and manipulate Star Wars-related data, enhancing your development experience with seamless integration into GitHub Copilot.

🚀 Quick Start

⚠️ Important Note

If you have already enabled the MCP server with Claude Desktop, add chat.mcp.discovery.enabled: true to your VS Code settings. It will discover the existing list of MCP servers.

If you want to associate the MCP server with a specific repository, create a .vscode/mcp.json file in the repository with the following content:

Using Tools in GitHub Copilot

1. After the MCP server can be discovered, open GitHub Copilot and select Agent mode (not Chat or Edits).

2. Select the "Refresh" button in the Copilot chat text field to refresh the server list.

3. Select the "🛠️" button to view all available tools, including those in this repository.

4. Ask a question in the chat that naturally triggers one of the tools, for example:

   How do I set my VS Code gradient color?
   

   ⚠️ Important Note

   If you see "Sorry, the response was filtered by a responsible AI service. Please rephrase and try again.", run it again or rephrase the prompt.

📦 Installation

Install via VS Code Extension

1. Open VS Code.
2. Go to the Extensions view (shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+X).
3. Search for and install the "Star Wars MCP Server" extension.

Install via Command Line

Install Node.js and npm
