Posuer is a tool for managing multiple MCP (Multiparty Compute Protocol) servers. It simplifies the development and deployment process by supporting the definition and operation of multiple MCP server instances through configuration files, along with containerization support and automatic detection capabilities.

Server Configuration

servers is an array that contains specific server configurations or paths to configuration files to be included. Each server configuration item can be either directly defined server parameters or a string representing a file path.

Direct Server Configuration

• name: Server name (used for namespace capabilities).
• type: Server connection type ("stdio" or "sse").
• command: Command to run (only applicable to stdio type).
• args: Command-line arguments.
• env: Environment variables.
• url: Server URL (only applicable to sse type).
• enable: Enable specific features (see below format options).
• disable: Disable specific features (see below format options).
• container: Container configuration (see below container options).

Including Files

Simply provide the file path as a string:

Container Configuration

Posuer supports specifying container configurations for MCP servers in three different formats:

1. Simple Format: Specify only the image name:

2. Full Configuration: Provide a map containing all container options:

3. Explicit Disable: Set to false to disable container isolation, including automatic detection:

Container Configuration Options

• image: Container image to use (required).
• volumes: Mapping from host path to container path.
• env: Environment variables passed to the container.
• network: Network mode (host, bridge, etc.).
• user: User to run inside the container.
• workdir: Working directory inside the container.
• args: Additional arguments passed to the container runtime.

Automatic Container Detection

Posuer can automatically recognize certain commands and run them in appropriate containers:

• npx commands are automatically run in docker.io/node:alpine.
• npm run type commands are automatically run in docker.io/node:alpine.

Example

This will start a container running npx my-app.

Integration with Claude Desktop

Posuer supports direct integration with Claude Desktop, facilitating users to manage MCP servers in a desktop environment.
