What is MCP Chat with Claude?

This is a full-stack application that combines advanced AI chat capabilities with an extended toolset. Through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, various practical tools are provided, and Claude AI can intelligently call these tools during conversations to enhance its answering ability.

How to use MCP Chat with Claude?

Simply open the chat interface in your browser and communicate with Claude as you would in a normal chat. When the AI needs tool assistance, it will automatically call the tools on the MCP server and integrate the results into the conversation.

Use Cases

Suitable for scenarios where AI needs to combine external tools to complete tasks, such as information queries, plan management, data analysis, etc. Particularly suitable for developers to experience tool-enhanced AI conversations.

Main Features

Interactive Chat
Conduct natural language conversations with Claude AI. The AI can understand complex questions and provide detailed answers.
Tool Integration
The AI can call various tools on the MCP server to enhance its answering ability, such as getting to-do lists and querying plans.
Real-time Feedback
The dual-panel interface simultaneously displays the conversation content and tool execution details, making the operation transparent and visible.
Dynamic Tool Discovery
The system automatically discovers available tools on the MCP server without manual configuration.
Advantages
Seamlessly integrates AI conversation capabilities and practical tools
The interface is intuitive and easy to operate, requiring no technical background
The tool call process is transparent, and users can view detailed execution information
Supports dynamic addition of new tools, with strong scalability
Limitations
Currently, the number of built-in tools is limited
An Anthropic API key is required for use
Tool calls may increase the response time

How to Use

Start the MCP Server
Run the npm start command in the server directory to start the MCP tool server.
Start the Web Application
Run npm run server in the client directory to start the chat interface server.
Open the Chat Interface
Access http://localhost:3000 in your browser to start a conversation with Claude.
Use Tools to Enhance the Conversation
When the AI needs tool assistance, it will automatically call the corresponding tools and integrate the results into the conversation.
