Email MCP serves as a straightforward Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Its core function is to endow AI agents with email capabilities, specifically supporting POP3 and SMTP protocols.

Configuration

Configuration enables the registration of email account details for sending and receiving emails. Email functionality can be realized through this account.

Tools

The following tools are available for connected LLMs:

• pollEmails(): Returns the message IDs and headers of all emails currently stored in the selected mailbox. This function takes no input and returns a list of dictionary objects.
• getEmailsById(ids: list): Returns the message IDs and bodies of emails with the specified IDs. The only input is a list of IDs of all emails to be retrieved, and the function returns a list of dictionary objects.
• deleteEmailsById(ids: list): Deletes emails from the current inbox by ID. Note: Deleting any email will invalidate the current ID order - so it's best to prompt the model to perform this operation last. This function has no output.
• sendTextEmail(fromAddress: str, toAddresses: list, subject: str, body: str): Sends a plain - text email via SMTP. The inputs are, in order: the sender's address, a list of recipient addresses, the subject text, and the email body content. This function has no output.
• sendHtmlEmail(fromAddress: str, toAddresses: list, subject: str, body: str): Sends an HTML - formatted email via SMTP. The inputs are, in order: the sender's address, a list of recipient addresses, the subject text, and the HTML - formatted content body. This function has no output.

📦 Installation

To install on Claude Desktop, add the following to the developer configuration file:

⚠️ Important Note

The second parameter should be the absolute path to the MCP_EMAIL folder. For Windows users, assume that Python is already set in the Path variable. For Windows installations, backslashes need to be escaped.

Finally, environment variables should be included to receive and send emails via POP3 and SMTP.
