What is MCP-Origin?
MCP-Origin is an intelligent proxy server that can connect to and manage multiple MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers simultaneously. It acts like a central console, allowing you to use all the tools provided by these servers without directly interacting with each server. How to use MCP-Origin?
After installing MCP-Origin, you can add different MCP servers through simple commands. All tools on the servers will be automatically discovered and managed uniformly. When using them, just add the server ID prefix.Use cases
When you need to use multiple AI model services simultaneously; when you want to manage tools from different sources uniformly; when you need to simplify complex technology integrations.Main Features
Multi-server ManagementCan connect to and manage multiple MCP servers simultaneously without configuring each connection separately
Automatic Tool DiscoveryAutomatically detects and registers all tools provided by connected servers, keeping the tool list up-to-date
Unified Invocation InterfaceInvoke tools on any server through the simple naming rule of serverID.toolName
Simple ConfigurationManage all server connections using a JSON configuration file, which is easy to maintain and version control
Advantages and Limitations
Advantages
Simplify the management of AI tools in complex environments
Provide a consistent invocation method, reducing the learning cost
Lightweight proxy with almost no additional overhead
Flexible server addition/removal mechanism
Limitations
Currently only supports stdio connection mode (will be expanded in the future)
Depends on the stability of external MCP servers
Requires manual refresh of the tool list (automatic update will be implemented in the future)
How to Use
Install MCP-Origin
