📦 Installation

1️⃣ Clone the repository

cd weather-mcp-server

2️⃣ Install dependencies

npm install

3️⃣ Build the project

npm run build

4️⃣ Run the server

npm start

Alternatively, you can directly run the compiled JavaScript:

node build/index.js

🔧 Configuration

This project uses environment variables for configuration. You can create a .env file in the root directory:

API_KEY=your_weather_api_key
PORT=3000

🐞 Troubleshooting

• If npm run build produces no output, check the TypeScript logs:

  npx tsc --diagnostics
  

• If Node.js cannot find index.js, confirm that the build/ directory contains the compiled files:

  ls build/
  

• If you are running on Windows, the chmod command may not work. Remove chmod 755 build/index.js from the build script.
