🚀 ActionKit MCP Starter

This repository serves as a demonstration of the ActionKit MCP server. By connecting this server to your Claude Desktop or Cursor, you can access all Slack actions of ActionKit. In this example, it's assumed that the user has authenticated via the Paragon Connect Portal. For demonstration purposes, Slack actions are filtered, but you can change this by removing the Slack filter in the index.ts file.

• Filter Slack actions for demonstration, and can be adjusted by modifying the index.ts file.

📦 Installation

1. Claude Desktop Setup
   1. First, install Claude Desktop.
   2. Clone this repository and run npm install.
   3. Then run npm run build to build a JavaScript file for Claude Desktop to use.
   4. The final step is to point Claude Desktop to our MCP server:
      • Create/edit the Claude configuration file using a text editor (e.g., vi ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json).
      • Paste the following configuration into the claude_desktop_config.json file:

    - Fill in your environment variables using Paragon credentials.
    - For the `USER` environment variable, it corresponds to the logged - in user who logged in via the Paragon Connect Portal.
        - Use [demo.useparagon.com](https://demo.useparagon.com) to quickly log in as your user and **verify Slack** (this is necessary for the Slack tool to perform actions on your behalf).
    - Note: The ABSOLUTE_PATH can be found by pressing `CMD` and clicking on the file in Mac's `Finder`.
5. Open Claude Desktop. There should be a `hammer icon` with a list of Slack tools.
    - Additionally, you should see that your application is connected to our MCP at the `connection icon`.

2. Cursor Setup
   1. If not already installed, install Cursor.
   2. Clone this repository and run npm install.
   3. Then run npm run build to build a JavaScript file for Cursor to use.
   4. The final step is to point Cursor to our MCP server:
