A TypeScript-based MCP server that demonstrates core context concepts by implementing a simple note-taking system. It offers:

• List and access all notes using note:// URIs.

• create_note - Create a new note.
  • Requires a title and content as mandatory parameters.
  • Store the note in the server state.

Prompts

• summarize_notes - Generate a summary of all stored notes.
  • Include all note content as embedded resources.
  • Return a structured prompt for LLMs to summarize.

📦 Installation

Development

Install dependencies:

npm install

Build the server:

npm run build

Develop with automatic rebuild:

npm run watch

Usage in Claude Desktop

To use it in Claude Desktop, add the following to the configuration file:

Debugging

Debugging can be challenging since MCP servers communicate via standard input and output. We recommend using the MCP Inspector, which is provided as a package script:

npm run inspector

The inspector will provide a URL to access the debugging tools in a browser.
