A server based on the Model Context Protocol

This is a TypeScript-based MCP server that demonstrates the core MCP concepts by providing:

• Note resources with URIs and metadata
• Tools for creating new notes
• Prompts for generating note summaries

✨ Features

Initialization

• Requires the NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_URL and NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_ANON_KEY environment variables.

Resources

• Lists and accesses notes via note:// URIs.
• Each note contains a title, content, and metadata.
• Accesses content using the simple plain text MIME type.

Tools

• create_note - Creates a new text note.
  • Accepts title and content as required parameters.
  • Stores the note in the server state.

Prompts

• summarize_notes - Generates a summary of all stored notes.
  • Includes all note content as embedded resources.
  • Returns a structured prompt for LLM summarization.

🚀 Quick Start

Development

Install dependencies:

npm install

Build the server:

npm run build

Use development mode (auto-rebuild):

npm run watch

📦 Installation

To use with Claude Desktop, add the following configuration:

• On MacOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
• On Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

Debugging

Since MCP servers communicate via standard input and output, debugging can be challenging. We recommend using the MCP Inspector, which is available as a package script:

npm run inspector

The inspector will provide a URL to access debugging tools in the browser.
