This project implements a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server integrated with Mattermost. It connects to the Mattermost API endpoints to retrieve and process various information and provides this information through standard MCP transmission methods.

📦 Installation

Requirements

• Node.js >= 22
• npm >= 10

Steps

1. Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/kakehashi-inc/mattermost-mcp-server.git
cd mattermost-mcp-server

2. Install dependencies:

npm install

3. Build the server:

npm run build

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

The server supports two transmission modes:

SSE Transmission Mode

npm start -- --endpoint="https://your-mattermost-server" \
            --token="your-mattermost-token" \
            --team-id="your-team-id" \
            --channels="channel1,channel2" \
            --port 8202

Standard I/O Transmission Mode

npm start -- --endpoint="https://your-mattermost-server" \
            --token="your-mattermost-token" \
            --team-id="your-team-id" \
            --channels="channel1,channel2" \
            --stdio

Parameter Details

Required Parameters

• endpoint: URL of your Mattermost server.
• token: Your Mattermost authentication token.
• team-id: ID of the team to monitor.
• channels: Comma-separated list of target channel names.

Optional Parameters

• port: Port number used in SSE transmission mode (Default: 8202).
• stdio: Flag to enable standard I/O transmission mode.
