🚀 MCP - Meal Preparation

MCP - Meal Preparation is a tool that simplifies the deployment and management of Model Context Protocol (MCP) services in containers. It allows you to quickly configure and run a series of MCP servers using a docker-compose.yml file.

🚀 Quick Start

1. Prepare the Portainer Environment

   • Open your Portainer environment, which is usually "Local" by default.
   • Navigate to the "Stacks" page.
   • Click "Add stack".

2. Deploy the Stack

   • Name your stack (e.g., "mcp-server-stack").
   • Under "Build method", choose "Upload a file" or "Web editor".
   • Upload the docker-compose.yml file from this repository, or copy and paste the contents.
   • Configure the required environment variables:
     • Slack bot token
     • GitLab personal access token
     • Google Maps API key
     • Brave Search API key
     • etc.
   • Click "Deploy stack".

3. Configure Individual Servers

   • Some servers require specific configurations or API tokens.
   • Refer to the documentation of each server in the MCP Servers repository.

🔧 Technical Details

MCP - Meal Preparation is a tool for easily deploying and managing Model Context Protocol (MCP) services in containers. By using the docker-compose.yml file, you can quickly configure and run a series of MCP servers.

💡 Usage Tip

• Warning: This is an initial step for running these MCP services. You need to conduct some tests and validations, especially regarding environment variables and service connections.
• Security: Keep API tokens and other sensitive information confidential; use read - only volumes to protect data as much as possible; regularly update your servers and dependencies.

🛠️ Customization

Add/Remove Servers

• Simply comment or delete the service blocks in the docker-compose.yml file.
• Ensure you have the necessary Dockerfiles and dependencies.

Environment Variables

• Replace the placeholder tokens with actual settings, such as API keys in environment variables and command parameters.
• Customize port mappings as needed; by default, the ports are consecutive.

🤝 Contribution Guide

Any newly added MCP servers need to be cleanly installed via npx, uv, or pip. If you have servers you want to add, please provide a tested and known - to - work docker - compose container section and submit a pull request or issue.

🗑️ Deprecated Docker Method

V1 MCP Meal Preparation used the GitHub Dockerfiles in each repository and ran them via docker - compose. Although this method works, it is relatively insecure and cannot connect to all clients. If you need to continue using this method, refer to docker-compose-old.yml or the following example:
