Security and Deployment

Operation Modes

The server implements two operation modes:

• mcpPlan Mode: Read - only analysis mode that allows the model to analyze the environment without making any changes.
• mcpAct Mode: Execution mode that grants full access to system modification functions.

This separation adds a security barrier against accidental file system modifications.

Directory Restrictions

All operations are restricted to the explicitly allowed directories specified at startup. Attempting to access files outside these directories will result in an error.

Shell Command Execution Security

The shell command execution tool is disabled by default and must be explicitly enabled via the --enableShellExecTool flag. Once enabled, it provides the following security features:

• Only available in "mcpAct" mode, not in planning mode.
• Configurable timeout to prevent long - running processes.
• Output size limit to prevent information overload.
• Complete command result reporting, including exit codes.
• Separate stdout and stderr streams for better diagnosis.
• Manual handling of command failures.

⚠️ Important Note

Enabling shell command execution grants the model the ability to execute arbitrary commands on the system. Always carefully review AI - generated commands before allowing them to execute.
