🚀 JobNimbus MCP Server

This project provides a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for interacting with the JobNimbus API through compatible AI assistants such as Cursor and Claude.

It allows AI agents to access and manipulate JobNimbus data (contacts, jobs, tasks, products, workflows, invoices) via standard tools, with secure access using your JobNimbus API key.

This server is published on npm and can be easily run using npx.

🚀 Quick Start

Follow the steps below to set up for specific AI assistants.

Setup for Cursor Editor

1. Prerequisites:

   • Cursor Editor is installed.
   • Node.js and npm are installed (requires npx).
   • You have your JobNimbus API key.

2. Configure Cursor:

   • Create the ~/.cursor directory in your home directory if it doesn't exist.
   • Create the file mcp.json in that directory if it doesn't exist.
   • Add the following content to the mcp.json file:

3. Start Cursor:

   • Run the following in the terminal:

   npx jobnexus
   

Setup for Claude

1. Prerequisites:

   • Claude is installed.
   • Node.js and npm are installed (requires npx).
   • You have your JobNimbus API key.

2. Configure Claude:

   • Run the following in the terminal:

   npx jobnexus

• Contacts:

  • listContacts(): Get all contacts.
  • getContact(id): Get a specific contact by ID.
  • createContact(contact): Create a new contact.
  • updateContact(id, contact): Update an existing contact.

• Jobs:

  • listJobs(): Get all jobs.
  • getJob(id): Get a specific job by ID.
  • createJob(job): Create a new job.
  • updateJob(id, job): Update an existing job.

• Tasks:

  • listTasks(): Get all tasks.
  • getTask(id): Get a specific task by ID.
  • createTask(task): Create a new task.
  • updateTask(id, task): Update an existing task.

• Products:

  • listProducts(): Get all products.
  • getProduct(id): Get a specific product by ID.
  • createProduct(product): Create a new product.
  • updateProduct(id, product): Update an existing product.

• Workflows:

  • getAllWorkflows(): Get all workflows and their statuses.
  • createWorkflow(workflow): Create a new workflow.
  • createWorkflowStatus(status): Create a new workflow status.

• Invoices:

  • listInvoices(): Get all invoices.
  • getInvoice(id): Get a specific invoice by ID.
  • createInvoice(invoice): Create a new invoice.
  • updateInvoice(id, invoice): Update an existing invoice.
  • sendInvoice(id): Send a specific invoice via email.
  • recordPayment(id, payment): Record a payment for a specific invoice.

🔧 Technical Details

If you want to contribute to or modify the server:

1. Clone the repository: git clone <repository_url>
2. Install dependencies: cd jobnexus-mcp-server && npm install
3. Modify the contents in the src/ directory.
4. Build: npm run build
5. Local testing (requires a .env file or exported API key):
   • Run directly: npm start
   • Run with auto - reload: npm run dev
   • Link for global testing: npm link (remember to run npm unlink -g jobnexus-mcp-server when done)
