📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Python version 3.11 or higher.
• uv for dependency management.
• A GitHub personal access token.

Installation Steps

1. Clone this repository:

   git clone https://github.com/yourusername/gh_mcp.git
   cd gh_mcp
   

2. Install dependencies:

   uv venv
   source .venv/bin/activate
   uv pip install -r requirements.txt
   

3. Create a .env file containing your GitHub token:

   GITHUB_TOKEN=your_github_token_here
   

💻 Usage Examples

Running the MCP Server

You can run the MCP server directly:

python star_count.py

Or use the provided shell script:

./run_star_count.sh

Integrating with Claude Desktop

Add the following content to your Claude desktop configuration file (~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json):
