🚀 mcp_email_reader

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) server exposes several MCP tools, including search_emails, download_attachment, and list_folders. This has been tested with Ollama on Claude Desktop and LibreChat.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

Windows

1. Install Claude Desktop (or other MCP-supported AI tools):

   • Download Claude for Desktop.
   • Follow the current installation instructions: Installing Claude for Desktop on Windows.

2. Install Python 3.10 or higher:

   • Download the latest Python installer from python.org.
   • Run the installer and select "Add Python to PATH".
   • Open the command prompt and verify the installation using python --version.

3. Install uv:

   • Open the command prompt as an administrator.
   • Run pip install --user uv.
   • Verify the installation using uv --version.

macOS

1. Install Claude Desktop (or other MCP-supported AI tools):

   • Download Claude for Desktop.
   • Follow the current installation instructions: Installing Claude for Desktop on macOS.

2. Install Python 3.10 or higher:

   • Use Homebrew: brew install python.
   • Verify the installation using python3 --version.

3. Install uv:

   • Use Homebrew: brew install uv.
   • Or: pip3 install --user uv.
   • Verify the installation using uv --version.

⚠️ Important Note

Obviously, the secret key can be used to decrypt the encrypted password, so there is a potential security risk - although the claude_desktop_config.json file is stored on your laptop/PC. Since it's not possible to add an.env file when dynamically cloning the repository using uvx, it is added to the JSON file.
