🚀 OneNote MCP (Microsoft Cloud Partner)

This is an MCP for OneNote. It has been significantly modified based on the original project and now supports personal notebooks. It has been updated to the latest MCP API version and implements a credential caching feature.

Testing the API

📦 Installation

Azure Application Registration Guide

1. Log in to the Azure Portal and navigate to the application registration page.
2. Create a new application registration for OneNoteMCP.
3. Add Microsoft Graph API permissions:
   • Notes.Read
   • Notes.Read.All
   • (Optional) Add the Notes.Write permission (there is a risk of note loss).
4. Create a client secret.
5. Copy the obtained client ID and secret for configuration.
6. Set signInAudience to AzureADandPersonalMicrosoftAccount in the application manifest.

MCP Server Setup

Place the client ID and secret in the local .env file and configure them accordingly in the Claude desktop. AUTH_CACHE_DIR should specify the directory for caching credentials.

Run the server for the first time to generate and cache authentication credentials. Thereafter, the Claude desktop will use these caches to run the service.
