🚀 MCP Server with FastAPI (Dani-MCP-SSE)

FastAPI-MCP is a tool that automatically exposes FastAPI endpoints as MCP (Model Context Protocol) tools without any configuration. This guide will explain how to use FastAPI as an MCP server.

📦 Installation

To use FastAPI as an MCP server, you must use the mcp-proxy tool from the client side.

# Install fastapi-mcp
uv add fastapi-mcp

# Install mcp-proxy
# Recommended method: Use uv
uv tool install mcp-proxy

Configuration of claude_desktop_config.json

Add the following content to the claude_desktop_config.json file:

Starting the Server

Start the server separately using uvicorn. Register the script in the pyproject.toml file:

Then run the following command:

uv run dani-mcp-sse-server
