🚀 MCP Server Project Introduction

The MCP (Model Context Protocol) server project aims to support the intelligent features of Cursor IDE, offering a variety of services to enhance the development experience. Currently, it includes two main services: the Demo Service and the Weather Service.

Project Structure

• src: Contains the source code for all services.
  • demo: The demo service, which demonstrates the basic structure and development methods of MCP services.
  • weather: The weather service, which provides real - time weather query functionality.
• build: Used to store files generated during the build process.
• node_modules: The project dependency management directory.

Development Environment Requirements

• Node.js version 16.0 or higher
• npm version 8.0 or higher
• TypeScript version 4.5 or higher
• The latest version of Cursor IDE

🚀 Quick Start

1. Clone the Project

git clone <repository-url>
cd mcp-servers

2. Install Dependencies

npm install

3. Build the Project

• Build all services:

npm run build

• Build a specific service (e.g., the weather service):

npm run build:weather

4. Configure MCP

Edit the ~/.cursor/mcp.json file and add the following content:

5. Start the Services

• Start the weather service:

npm run start:weather

• Start the demo service:

Development Guide

Create a New Service

1. Create a new service directory (e.g., new-service) under the src directory.
2. Copy the structure of an existing service (e.g., demo or weather) and adjust it according to your needs.
3. Implement the necessary controllers and service logic.
4. Add the corresponding build and start scripts to the package.json file in the project root directory.

Debugging Methods

1. Use console.error() to output debugging information.
2. Check the MCP log window in Cursor IDE.
3. Utilize the source map feature of TypeScript for debugging.

Testing Guide

• Run all tests:

npm test

• Run tests for a specific service (e.g., the weather service):

npm test weather

Frequently Asked Questions

1. The service fails to start

• Check if any ports are occupied.
• Ensure that the environment variables are correctly configured.

• Confirm that the API key is valid.
• Check the network connection status.

3. Cursor IDE does not recognize the service
