🚀 Notion MCP Server

This project implements the MCP Protocol service on the Notion API.

📦 Installation

1. Set up an integration in Notion:

Visit https://www.notion.so/profile/integrations to create a new internal integration or select an existing one.

Although we limit the scope of the Notion API exposure (e.g., you cannot delete databases via MCP), there is a non-zero risk of exposing data to LLMs. Security-conscious users may wish to further configure the capabilities of the integration.

For example, you can create a read-only integration token with only the "Read content" permission selected in the "Configuration" tab:

2. Add MCP configuration to the client:

Using npm:

Add the following to your .cursor/mcp.json or claude_desktop_config.json (MacOS: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json):

Using Docker:

You can also run the MCP server using Docker. First, build the Docker image:

docker-compose build

Then add the following to your .cursor/mcp.json or claude_desktop_config.json:

Don't forget to replace ntn_**** with your own integration key. Find it in your integration configuration tab:

3. Connect content to the integration:

Ensure that the relevant pages and databases are connected to your integration.

To do this, you need to visit the page, click on the three dots, and then select "Connect to integration".

Basic Usage

1. Use the following command:

Leave a comment "Hello MCP" on the page "Getting started"

2. Example command:

Tell me to write "Hello MCP" on the page "Getting started"

3. Create a new page:

Create a new page titled "My New Page" with the content "This is a new Notion page."
