🚀 LINE Bot MCP Server

This is an implementation of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that integrates the LINE Messaging API, designed to connect AI agents to official LINE accounts.

This repository is provided as a preview version. Although we offer support for this experiment, please note that it may not include full functionality or comprehensive support.

🚀 Quick Start

The LINE Bot MCP Server integrates the LINE Messaging API to connect AI agents to official LINE accounts. Below is a detailed guide on how to use and configure it.

✨ Features

1. push_text_message

• Push a simple text message to users via LINE.
• Input:
  • user_id (string): The ID of the user who will receive the message. Defaults to DESTINATION_USER_ID.
  • message.text (string): The plain text content to be sent to the user.

2. push_flex_message

• Push highly customizable Flex messages to users, supporting single-container (bubble) and multi-container (swipeable bubbles) layouts.
• Input:
  • user_id (string): The ID of the user who will receive the message. Defaults to DESTINATION_USER_ID.
  • message.altText (string): The alternative text to be displayed when the Flex message cannot be shown.
  • message.content (any type): The content of the Flex message. This is a JSON object that defines the layout and components.
  • message.contents.type (enum): The container type. 'bubble' represents a single container, and 'carousel' represents multiple swipeable bubbles.

3. get_profile

• Retrieve detailed profile information of LINE users, including display name, profile picture URL, status message, and language.
• Input:
  • user_id (string): The ID of the user whose profile is to be retrieved. Defaults to DESTINATION_USER_ID.

📦 Installation

Step 1: Install line-bot-mcp-server

Requirements:

• Node.js v20 or higher

Clone this repository:

git clone git@github.com/line/line-bot-mcp-server.git

Install the necessary dependencies and build line-bot-mcp-server when using Node.js. This step is not required when using Docker:

cd line-bot-mcp-server && npm install && npm run build

Step 2: Obtain a Channel Access Token

This MCP server uses an official LINE account. If you don't have an official account, please follow these instructions to create one.

To connect to the Messaging API, you need a channel access token. Please follow these instructions to confirm this token.

In addition, you also need the message ID of the recipient user. Please follow these instructions to confirm this ID.

Step 3: Configure the AI Agent

Please add the following configuration for an AI agent like Claude Desktop or Cline. Insert the previously obtained channel access token and user ID into CHANNEL_ACCESS_TOKEN and DESTINATION_USER_ID respectively, and update the line-bot-mcp-server path in mcpServers.args.
