📦 Installation

Step 1: Get the Code

git clone https://github.com/giovanoh/mcp-server-govbox.git
cd mcp-server-govbox

Step 2: Build the Docker Image (Optional)

# Use a basic Go container to build the MCP server
FROM golang:1.20 AS builder

WORKDIR /app

COPY go.mod .
RUN go mod tidy

COPY . .

CMD ["go", "run", "./main.go"]

# Create a lightweight base image to run the MCP server
FROM alpine:3.18

WORKDIR /app

COPY --from=builder /app/main .

EXPOSE 8080

CMD ["/app/main"]

Step 3: Start the Server

# Build and run locally
go run main.go

# Run using Docker (if the image has been built)
docker build -t mcp-server .
docker run -p 8080:8080 mcp-server

Environment Variable Configuration

Create a .env file in the same directory as main.go:

Error Handling

Initialization Errors

• Invalid shell configuration: Check MCP_SHELL_PATH and MCP_GOVBOX_PROJECT_PATH in the .env file.

Runtime Errors

• Task execution failed: Ensure that the Rake command has sufficient permissions and that the Govbox project path exists.
