🚀 Backlog MCP Server

This is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server designed to interact with Backlog, a project management tool. The server offers functionalities for querying and managing Backlog resources such as projects, issues, wikis, and user activities.

After completing the configuration, you can use this server with Claude Desktop or any MCP-compatible client. In Claude Desktop, you can use natural language queries, for example:

• "Show me all my recent issues."
• "List all projects in my Backlog space."
• "Find high-priority issues assigned to me."

📦 Installation

# Clone the repository

Configuration

Claude Desktop Settings

To use the Backlog MCP server with Claude Desktop, edit the following configuration files:

• macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
• Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

Obtain the Command Path

To get the correct path for the command field, run the following command after building:

echo "\"$(pwd)/build/index.js\""

Example: "/Users/username/development/mcp-servers/advanced-backlog-mcp-server/build/index.js"

On macOS, you can directly copy this path to the clipboard:

echo "\"$(pwd)/build/index.js\"" | pbcopy

API Key Settings

You can obtain your API key in the Backlog account settings.

The server provides the following tools:

• list_backlog_space - Retrieve your Backlog space information.
• list_backlog_projects - List all projects in your Backlog space.
• list_backlog_recently_viewed_issues - List recently viewed issues.
• search_backlog_issues - Search for issues using various filters.
• get_backlog_issue - Get detailed information about a specific issue.
• list_backlog_recently_viewed_projects - List recently viewed projects.
• get_backlog_project - Get detailed information about a specific project.
• list_backlog_recently_viewed_wikis - List recently viewed wiki pages.
• get_backlog_wiki - Get detailed information about a specific wiki.
• list_backlog_recent_user_activities - List a specific user's activities.
• get_backlog_current_user - Get information about the current user.
• get_backlog_user - Get information about a specific user.
• list_backlog_users - List all users in your Backlog space.
• list_backlog_own_notifications - List the current user's notifications.

Debugging

To debug the MCP server, run the following command:

npm run inspector

Then access the generated URL in your browser.
