🚀 Quick Start

Before using, make sure you have installed the playwright environment:

npx playwright install

📦 NPM Global Installation

# Global installation
npm install -g rednote-mcp

# Initialize login, and cookies will be automatically saved to the ~/.mcp/rednote/cookies.json file
rednote-mcp init

📦 Installation from Source Code

# Clone the project
git clone https://github.com/ifuryst/rednote-mcp.git
cd rednote-mcp

# Install dependencies
npm install

# Global installation (optional, for easy command-line invocation)
npm install -g .

# Or run directly, such as initializing login
npm run dev -- init

✨ Features

• Authentication management (supports Cookie persistence)
• Note search by keywords
• Command-line initialization tool
• Access note content via URL
• [ ] Access comment content via URL (not yet implemented)

💻 Usage Examples

1. Initial Login

You need to initialize the login before using it for the first time:

rednote-mcp init
# Or run directly from the source code
npm run dev -- init
# Or select the login option in mcp-client

After executing this command:

1. Automatically open a browser window.
2. Navigate to the Xiaohongshu login page.
3. Please manually complete the login operation.
4. After successful login, the Cookie will be automatically saved to the ~/.mcp/rednote/cookies.json file.

2. Configure MCP Server in Cursor

Add the following configuration to Cursor's settings.json:

Or use the npx method:

Configuration instructions:

• command: It can be the rednote-mcp command after global installation, or use npx to run directly.
• args: The --stdio parameter must be included to support Cursor's communication method.

Development Environment Requirements

• Node.js >= 16
• npm >= 7

Development Process

# Install dependencies
npm install

# Build the project
npm run build

# Start the development server
npm start

⚠️ Important Note

• Please comply with Xiaohongshu's relevant regulations and laws during use.
• When initializing the login, please ensure a smooth network connection and that the browser supports JavaScript.
• If you encounter problems, please check if the Cookie is valid and if there is a network connection.
