🚀 Fusion 360 MCP Server

This is a middleware project that connects Cline with Autodesk Fusion 360. It exposes Fusion 360's toolbar commands as callable tools via API. These tools can be translated into specific actions through natural language parsing. For example, "Create a box with rounded corners" can be parsed and executed with the following steps: CreateSketch → DrawRectangle → Extrude → Fillet. The project generates Python scripts that can be directly run in Fusion 360.

📦 Installation

System Requirements

• Python 3.9 or higher
• Autodesk Fusion 360

Installation Steps

1. Clone this repository to your local machine.
2. Install dependencies using the following command:

pip install -r requirements.txt

💻 Usage Examples

Running the Server

HTTP Mode

python server.py --http

Access http://localhost:5000 to use the REST API.

MCP Mode (Fusion Plugin)

Run server.py as a Fusion plugin and communicate with the plugin via standard input and output.

Project Structure

• tool_registry.json: Defines available tools and their parameters.
• script_generator.py: Generates Python scripts based on tool calls.
• Other files: Auxiliary files such as logs and templates.

Tool Extension

Steps to Add New Tools

1. Add a new tool definition, including name and parameters, in tool_registry.json.
2. Update SCRIPT_TEMPLATES in script_generator.py to support the new tool.
3. Implement new parameter - handling logic in the _process_parameters function.

Future Enhancements

• Implement session state tracking to support context - aware operations.
• Promote the dynamic tool registration function.
• Develop an automation mechanism through sockets or file polling.
• Expand more Fusion commands.
