Developing SlideSpeak MCP

The following information is related to the development of SlideSpeak MCP. These steps are not required for using the MCP server.

Building the Docker Image

This command is for local testing. If you want to release a new version, refer to the "Making a New Release" section below.

Development Steps

Installing the uv Tool

Creating and activating a virtual environment

Installing Dependencies

uv pip install -r requirements.txt

Using the Server Directly (without Docker)

Making a New Release

Version names should follow the MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH format (e.g., 1.0.0). Versions need to be updated in the following files:

• pyproject.toml -> version
• slidespeak.py -> USER_AGENT

Publish a new version on GitHub and tag it with the version number. This will trigger the GitHub Actions workflow. The new version will be automatically built and pushed to Docker Hub. https://hub.docker.com/r/slidespeak/slidespeak-mcp
