🚀 AWS PostgreSQL MCP Server

A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides read-only SQL query access to AWS PostgreSQL databases via the query tool. Configuration is done using environment variables.

📦 Installation

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone https://github.com/T1nker-1220/aws-postgress-mcp-server.git
   cd aws-postgress-mcp-server
   

2. Install dependencies and build the project:

   pnpm install
   pnpm run build
   

⚙️ Configuration (for Cline/Windsurf)

Add this server to your MCP client settings file (e.g., c:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Windsurf\User\globalStorage\saoudrizwan.claude-dev\settings\cline_mcp_settings.json):

-> Replace the placeholder values in the env object with your actual credentials.

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Usage

After configuration, the client will start the server. Use the query tool as follows:

⚠️ Important Note

• This server only allows read-only queries (e.g., SELECT, SHOW, etc.).
• If you configure using npx @t1nker-1220/aws-postgres-mcp-server ..., you must first publish the package to npm. Configuration will still use the env object to manage credentials.
