📋 Prerequisites

• Node.js version >= 18.0.0

📦 Installation

npm install -g mcp-auto-install

💻 Usage Examples

Basic Commands

# Start the MCP Auto-Installer server
mcp-auto-install

# Get the list of available servers
mcp-auto-install list

# Install a specified server
mcp-auto-install install <server_name>

# Uninstall a server
mcp-auto-install remove <server_name>

# Configure a server
mcp-auto-install configure <server_name>

# View the README of a server
mcp-auto-install readme <server_name>

# Save a server command to the configuration file
mcp-auto-install save-command <server_name> <command>

Configuration Settings

The MCP Auto-Installer uses two configuration files:

1. mcp_settings.json: Used to store internal configuration information, including server registration data.
2. External configuration file: The path is specified via the environment variable MCP_SETTINGS_PATH (e.g., Claude's configuration file).

Environment Variables

• MCP_SETTINGS_PATH: Specify the path of the external configuration file (e.g., /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json).

Example:

export MCP_SETTINGS_PATH="/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json"
