Before using Artemis MCP, you need to meet the following prerequisites and complete the installation.

📦 Installation

Prerequisites

• Python 3.11+
• uv. On MacOS, you can install it using Homebrew: brew install uv.
• Claude Desktop Application
• Artemis API Key
• Artemis Snowflake Login Information

Installation Methods

Automated Installation with OpenTools (Easier)

Install the prerequisites for OpenTools.

Then run:

npx opentools@latest i artemis

Manual Setup (More Work)

• Install uv

Copy sample_claude_desktop_config.json to your claude_desktop_config.json file:

• On MacOS: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json
• On Windows: %APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

Fill in the relevant information in claude_desktop_config.json:

• <UV_PATH> - The path to the uv executable (run where python on MacOS).

• <PATH_TO_ARTEMIS_MCP_REPO> - The path to your local cloned repository of Artemis MCP.

• <ARTEMIS_API_KEY> - Your Artemis API Key.

• Restart the Claude Desktop Application

• The Artemis MCP tool should now be available!

Available Tools

The Artemis MCP Server provides the following tools:

API Tools

• validate-artemis-api-key: Create and verify a connection to the Artemis API.
• get-artemis-data: Retrieve data from the Artemis API based on a given cryptocurrency symbol and metrics.
• get-artemis-supported-metrics-for-symbol: Get the supported metrics for a specific cryptocurrency symbol.

Formula Generation Tools

• generate-art-formula: Generate an ART formula to retrieve price, fees, revenue, and other time - series data.
• generate-artinfo-formula: Generate an ARTINFO formula to obtain asset classification, available metrics, market - cap ranking, and metadata.
